DJ Ancient Brother

Resident DJ Ancient Brother (aka Dr. Anders) experienced master of eclecticisme, initiator of the smallest Discotheek in the world and no problems with marathon sessions. We are curious what he has in store for us during this GOGBOT edition.

Pikzwart Dj’s

The past couple of years, Marco Dakic, Jerry Rog en Daan Siebum, guarantee a bold and an exciting sound, balancing between house and techno. This is the perfect match for a collaboration between GOGBOT and Pikzwart. After parties with dj’s like Call Super, Objekt, Kobosil, Shed and Matrixxman, it is time for a new edition in Atak. Next to the headiners Perc and Headless Horseman, the Pikzwart Dj’s will take care of that night ánd invite local dj’s to perform an afternoon/evening in a Dome Tent on De Oude Markt in Enschede.

SAWF

Back in the year 2000 the young greek Sawf got into electronic music. He bought a synthesizer and a drum machine and started his experimentations and set the ground for his unique and raw style. After six years he extended his set up and included a laptop to start working even more serious on music and sound design. In the year 2008 he felt ready to send out a demo package to the UK label Perc Trax which released his fist album “Flaws” in 2011 as well as several Eps including remixes by artists like Marcel Fengler, DVS1, Mørbeck, Subjected or Radial. Since 2011 Sawf is part of the Grounded Theory Berlin and is represented in booking and management issues by the camp.

Headless Horseman

Headless Horseman is an anonymous techno producer from Berlin, Germany. With remixes from the likes of Perc and Ancient Methods, his hard-hitting and spine-chilling techno inspired by the ancient folk tale is making waves in all the right circles.

Pearl black techno from the shady edges of a decayed forest, Headless Horseman’s music doesn’t let the light filter through its dead branches slowly waving to an eternal cold breeze.

Unstoppable asymetric rhythms support distant industrial recollections and dark shamanic atmospheres from a faded mecanical era, emerging as a carved up figure, half-machine and half-human.

Valery Vermeulen

Mikromedas

Mikromedas is a data-driven musical project by Belgian electronic musician and mathematician dr. Valery Vermeulen. In the project compositions are elaborated using data coming from space, deep space or numerical simulation models related to various astrophysical phenonoma. The project is presented under various thematic performance series.
For GOGBOT 2017 Mikromedas will be presented in the OGLE2005BLG390Lb performance series. Central theme of this series is the elaboration of a sonic representation of a voyage from earth to the exoplanet OGLE2005BLG390Lb situated near Sigattarius A*, a super massive black hole (mass of more that 4 million times mass of sun) that lies in the center of our Milky Way. Compositions are hereby produced using sampled radio astronomical data coming from various sources e.g. data stemming from several spacecrafts such as Voyager1 and Voyager2 or data originating from various astrophysical objects. Other sources that are used in the composition process include synthesized sounds as well as live data feeds from various satellites.
For the Mikromedas performance at GOGBOT 2017 special focus will be put on the use of data originating from various moons in our solar system.

ossian

Ossian is originally from Scotland and currently lives in London where he met Ansome while studying a sound design course at London South Bank University.

After being introduced to techno when he moved to London he soon realised that his taste and ideas for techno aligned closely with Kieran’s and so got involved with South London Analogue Material. With no formal music background Ossian’s productions are focused on experimental sound design and noise to create screeching, powerful and heavy hitting techno. Currently with releases on PLS UK and S.L.A.M there are more solo and collaboration releases coming soon.

His hefty DJ sets are dynamic and relentless. Ossian is also available for live or DJ sets together with colleague label owner Ansome.

endlec

Endlec is from Greece, born and lived from his early years in a city called Thessaloniki.

Already been releasing his music since 2014 at labels such as Authentic Pew from Germany and hungarian Panel Trax records, it was with his first ever vinyl release from Rotterdam based Mord Records that got the attention of the international techno scene. With influences from the ‘90s european techno, the sound of the Detroit’s pioneers such as Jeff Mills, Robert Hood and with a significant dose from the modern electronic music scene, Endlec delivered a record that didn’t hold anything back, characterised by a sound that was raw, furious, full of unceasing energy and with no compromise at all. That’s the elements that defines his style, from the productions to his dj sets and for the man himself is what defines techno music. The genre that he choose to serve faithfully when, in his very young days, heard for the first time the futuristic, musical manifestos that Underground Resistance were transmitting from inside the heart of Detroit and deeply inspired by that, he started listening, collecting and mixing records. Since then techno is his master, his is nothing but a servant, a man devoted to the rhythm.

Nowadays he is in a constant search of his true inner voice, either that comes from making music, listening and playing something that inspires him or by being occupied with his love of images through photography and cinema. He has chosen a path towards perfection of his craft no matter what he faces. What constantly motivates him is his respect for the music independently from genres, something that got to him thanks to his father, the experience of music listening and the desire to understand the fundamentals.
Finding himself constantly experimenting with analogue sequencers, synthesisers and sound design, his purpose is to pass his love for the music to other people and most certainly, he will do it without any compromises.

Perc

Perc is one of the modern electronic music’s reference points: an internationally touring DJ and live act, founder of the renown Perc Trax label and one of the most respected producers in techno today. From his earliest releases in 2002 to his current position Perc has been one of the most forward-thinking individuals in techno. Perc (aka London based Ali Wells) has continued to challenge and innovate as his recognition has grew.

As a DJ Perc has taken his sound across the world to such seminal clubs as Berghain, Fabric, Ministry Of Sound, Cocoliche, Tresor, Fuse, Space Ibiza, Unit in Tokyo and to festivals including Awakenings, Mayday, Reaktor, Unsound, Soenda, 10 Days Off, Glastonbury, Extrema and many more. His podcast for Resident Advisor’s scene-leading mix series is Perc at his very best and a perfect example of his fusion of bleeding edge techno and classic noise and experimental influences.

After a run of singles on scene leading labels including CLR, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Drumcode, Ovum and Electric Deluxe Perc’s debut album ‘Wicker & Steel’ was released in 2011 where the move to the full-length format brought him to a new level of respect. Following launch parties in New York, Tokyo and London the album picked up a stream of plaudits from the expected dance-press coverage to crossing over into the UK national newspapers. Perc spent 2012 and 2013 diversifying with projects ranging from focussed dance floor EPs to experimental releases including a collaboration with industrial legends Einstürzende Neubauten, whilst a run of remixes saw him turning in interpretations of artists including Factory Floor, Daniel Avery and Surgeon.

In case anyone thought Wicker and Steel was a lucky first stab at the album format 2014’s ‘The Power & The Glory’ changed all that, with the album reaching a wider audience than ever before. In the second half of the year Perc Trax celebrated its tenth birthday with a double album featuring Perc’s first commercially available mix CD plus three vinyl EPs featuring tracks from the compilation.

Through 2015 Perc continued to play gigs across Europe, South America and Australia. He also found time to return to Perc Trax for the politically charged ‘Gob’, his first full EP for the label in three years. 2016 mainly saw Perc focus on his collaborative projects, sharing space on vinyl releases and DJ booths with Truss, Randomer, Ansome and Adam X.

Now as we enter 2017 Perc has finished his long awaited third album; ‘Bitter Music’ is set for release in April and will be backed by an extensive world tour as well as a launch event in London. The album see’s Perc balance the political and personal whilst pushing his sound further forward than ever before. Away from the album he is also continuing his well received collaborative projects with Truss and Ansome whilst guiding Perc Trax through its 13th year of releasing cutting edge electronic music.
